Must have been because of the "9 to 5" role, I certainly never hated him.
TCM just happened to run The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984), Frank Oz's
first directorial effort. Dabney Coleman plays a con man they meet at
the beginning of the movie.
Looking at his list of credits, he did a lot of television guest
appearances during the first two decades of his career, all before 9-5.
