after the same thugs.  Batman doesn't like she's copying him, but
quickly lets it slide because they have bigger fish to fry.  But the
thugs get the drop on then and Batwoman just barely escapes as the
building structure they are on blows up.  With Batman presumed dead
Nightwing returns to Gotham and pretends to be Batman to keep the
criminals from learning Batman is missing.  Of course Batman's annoying
brat Robin is still around and a new character Luke Fox is introduced
and goes on to become Batwing.  With the Bat family (minus Batgirl) in
place it's' up to them to track down Bruce and save the city.  Overall
it was pretty good.

 I just finished it. I think you liked it more than I did. It kind of fell
apart for me when suddenly they’re assaulting the cloud city of Bespin.
That’s just sort of out of the bat friends league.
 

Yeah, they should have called in the League to help track down Batman.

Luke isn’t really a new character. He was the male lead in battered woman.
Nice that Lucius had built an armored suit way more powerful than Tony
Stark ever did and it was just sitting there waiting for somebody to use it
but nobody ever had and Luke knew how to work it somehow.
 I have no idea who the batgirl 66 character at the end was supposed to be.
 

I think just a reminder she was there.  Although that probably makes matters worse because then you wonder where was she the rest of the movie.

Ian‘s Wikipedia article says that 2019‘s Batman hush is a sequel to this,
although I have no idea why.
 

Same. I'm making my way to Hush.  I'll keep an eye out for connections. At the time the movies were originally coming out I didn't notice any connections until it was too late.  Plus the stand alones they kept sprinkling in didn't help matters.  But now that I have a list that shows which movies are in continuity and which are stand alones, it helps a lot to see the connections, even in movies like this one that they don't acknowledge the rest of the League.

I have the same problem with animated Damien I always have. The kid is a
pre-teenager and looks like he weighs about 55 pounds soaking wet. There’s
just no way he has the mass to do any of the stuff he does.

In Justice League vs. Teen Titans he pulled that mess with Blue Beetle and the scarab burned half his face off.  If Raven wasn't there to use some dark magic he'd have died and the rest of the League probably would have cheered.  Have I mentioned I can't stand that character yet?

Nice that the pick up at the bar was Renee Montoya.
 Yvonne Stachowski’s Batwoman is a strange amalgamation, a various other
Batwoman and batgirls.  Like the 1966 character, she has some sort of
untapped fortune to spend on all these toys and manages to operate out of a
high-rise apartment building.
 Morena Baccarin as Talia. Sigh.
