Staff at a branch of McDonald's have been sworn to secrecy about whether
Kamala Harris ever worked there after Donald Trump accused her of lying.
Employees at the franchise in Alameda, California told The Telegraph they
had
been instructed by bosses not to talk about the vice-president, after claims
that she invented her summer job to appear more authentic to voters.
Ms Harris has spoken repeatedly about her time at the restaurant, and says
her job there during her university degree in the 1980s inspired her to
support
working families.
"Part of the reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald's is because
there are people who work at McDonald's in our country who are trying to
raise a family," she told MSNBC last month.
"I think part of the difference between me and my opponent includes our
perspective on the needs of the American people and what our responsibility
then is to meet those needs."
--------------------------
(1) No one should be trying to raise a family on a McDonald's salary. Those
jobs were never meant to feed a family of four and send the kids to college.
Shaking the fry basket or squirting the guac bottle is not valuable enough
labor to justify paying the wages required to buy a house and support an
entire family.
(2) "Meeting those needs" in this context is not in any way, shape, or form
the job of government in the first place, let alone the federal government.
(3) What's Kammie hiding? She claims that Trump must be hiding something if
he won't release his medical records, so by the same standard, Kammie must
be
hiding something if she won't release her employment records. Just like she
won't release any of the paperwork on the gun she claims to own. It's likely
that she made up both stories to score political points and hopes if she
stonewalls long enough people will forget about them and move on to other
things.
The mystery deepens...
The Washington Post obtained a copy of Kammie's 1987 job application for a
law
clerk position in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was in
law school at the time and in a section that asked her to list all employment
for the last 10 years, she listed several past jobs, including a month-long
internship at a stock brokerage.
Except people often leave off jobs that don't relate to the job they
are trying to get. I spent two years working in a factory but it's
never been on my resume.
McDonald's is not listed.
When she speaks about the job, she talks like she does about the Glock pistol
that she allegedly owns. Her speech is halting and her descriptions are
vague.
And then there's the fact that neither of Kammie's memoirs mentions anything
resembling a job at McDonald's.
It's looking more and more like Kammie's job at McDonald's is nothing but a
lie, made up to help the working class identify with her and feel she's one
of
them. Which is why the left-- both in the political class and the media-- had
an absolute meltdown over Trump's photo-op at a McDonald's last week. They
all
took it as a poke in Kammie's eye about her mythical McDonald's job that
never
was. Which it was. He served fries at the drive-thru for 15 minutes, then
declared he's worked at McDonald's longer than Kamala Harris has.
He didn't even actually serve fries. He played an employee in a staged
event with hand picked customers who had to go through their lines
ordering food multiple times.
I don't know if Harris worked at McDonald's or not but it's not the
sort of thing that's that important as it has nothing to do with her
current job or the one she is going for.
Also it's not the sort of
thing that anyone would care about except for people trying to make a
big deal out of whether she did or did not ever work there.
No one is going to vote for a Presidential candidate because they worked at
McDonald's.
