It is interesting to speculate on how or whether the death today of
former BC premier John Horgan will affect things as his successor
(from the same party) David Eby was considered much more willing to
pander to Muslim interests than Horgan was and while the BC NDP will
certainly give Horgan the mother of all send offs Eby is likely to
take the gloves off once his mentor is buried.

By "taking the gloves off", I assume you mean Eby will amplify his
support of Muslims rather than diminish it?
Not so much amplify as ignore Jews even more.
Of course given your geography I would expect you to have noticed
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/mississauga-hamas-vigil-yahya-sinwar
which features the fact that Mississauga, ON (Toronto's biggest
suburb) is supporting a rally in memory of Sinwar, head of HAMAS and
prime mover behind the HAMAS invasion of Israel.
The fact that (a) it's being held at City Hall and (b) uses the Royal
Canadian Legion Poppy and "Lest We Forget" (the former being a Legion
copywrite and the latter being a common phrase on November 11th both
in Canada and the UK) is particularly egregious.
I hope the voters remember and justly reward the mayor at the next
election. (In other words the political version of "terminate with
extreme prejudice")
I agree 100%!
