The guilty parties! So who still works there?
“Today we had to make one of the hardest decisions a company can
make—eliminating a number of positions,” he said. “We are making these
changes not because they are easy, but because we believe they are
necessary to build a stronger future for The CW.”
So they are building a stronger future for the CW by getting rid of
everyone that produces content for the channel and those that help
market it. Either everyone that works at the CW sucked at their jobs
and so deserved to be fired or they have no idea what to do with the
channel and are getting rid of everyone because the people at the top
are clueless.
Ah, and there it is. They are moving towards live sports and
unscripted/game shows. Probably content that they are just buying from
someone else so there's no need for the network to have anyone working
for them to actually produce content.
The last part has been clear for ages. I am frankly amazed they didn't lay off the "original scripted programming" parties 6-12 months ago. Maybe they wanted to wait until "Superman & Lois" premiered before doing it?...
But didn't they already renew "All American"? Or did the "new" season of that already premiere, and they haven't renewed it a second time?...
In any case, "All American" was the last original they had, and they may have already finished that one out too.
