So a few months ago, I started watching the remake of PRESUMED INNOCENT (the
one with Lizzy Caplan) on one of streamers when it first came out (can't
remember which one, I think it was the Hulus).
I made it about halfway through but with everything else I had to watch, it
kind of fell by the wayside. I remembered it last night and decided to pick it
back up again but I couldn't find it on the Hulus, the Paramount, the Peacocks
or anywhere else. I searched for it through Apple TV and come to find it's now
something I have to pay extra for. It list all the episodes and even shows
which ones I've already watched but it wants $2.99/episode from now on if I
want to continue with it.
WTF?
Is this some new ploy by these streamers to wheedle even more money out of us?
Like a drug dealer, wait until you're halfway through a show and then say, "If
you want to see how it ends, it'll cost ya?"
"Presumed Innocent" was always an Apple TV+ show. Did you have Apple TV+
(maybe for free?) and then dropped it?
Nope. I've had Apple+ for years.
If you have Apple TV+, you should be able to go to the Apple TV+ section
in the Apple TV app, and get the show to go.
It's the Apple Store side that's trying to get you to pay. But if you
have Apple TV+ it shouldn't be trying that with you.
If all else fails, log out of the Apple TV app, and log back in again.
Okay, I screwed this up the way I always do and confused PRESUMED INNOCENT
with FATAL ATTRACTION. I've always confused those two movies in my head and
now I'm doing the same thing with the TV remakes.
It was the FATAL ATTRACTION remake that had Lizzy Caplan in it and which I
now can't find. I remember now that it was originally on Paramount+ and
when you google it, you can find screen caps with the P+ logo on the screen
but if you search for it on Paramount now, it's gone. Nothing comes up.
Like I said above, if you search through Apple TV, it comes up but at a
price of $3/episode. Again, it seems to know that I've watched episodes
1-4, and asks if I want to start episode 5, so it's getting that data from
somewhere.
I just don't get why a major Paramount original has disappeared off the app
for which it was made and is now only available through AppleTV and then
only if you pay extra per episode.
