In "Earth Abides," when a plague of unprecedented virulence sweeps the
globe, the human race is all but wiped out. In the aftermath, as the
great machine of civilization slowly and inexorably breaks down, only a
few shattered survivors remain to struggle against the slide into
extinction. The six-episode miniseries (running through Dec. 29) is
based on George R. Stewart's classic sci-fi novel of the same name.

I watched this today. It's not a bad show with the only unrealistic
thing being how quickly the pandemic kills off the entire world minus
a few people. Setting it as a six episode mini-series is a great idea
as the concept would fall apart over a longer running.
