Obviously you have the right to make a plea but not a right to have it
automatically accepted. Even if the plea is rejected you still would
have the right to "a jury of your peers" or a "trial by judge" though
in any case you still would be innocent till found guilty.
I don't understand what you are saying. The defendant enters a lawful
plea. It's recorded on the record. The court doesn't accept it.
What presumption of innocence? If the wife's dead, I presume the husband
did it. If the business partner is dead, I assume the living partner did
it. If the body was discovered on an episode of Murder, She Wrote, I
presume...
