Hosts of "The View" made it clear that they weren't happy that President-
elect Donald Trump's pick for Secretary of Health and Human Services
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. might crack down on weight loss drugs like Ozempic.

While I appreciate people use it as a "weight loss medication", my
endocrinologist calls it a diabetes medication. I've been seeing him
for more than 10 years (which I wouldn't have done if I didn't trust
him implicitly) and know he's not big on fads.

As opposed to the women on The View - who are VERY big on fads.

I have shared the views I've expressed here with him (i.e. that I know
some people want to use it as a diet drug and that that kind of demand
for it has dramatically driven up the cost which I think is immoral)
and he agrees with me.

Sorry - but this is a sore point with me which now that I'm retired is
heavily impacting my budget (to the tune of about $200+ a month)

It was explained to me that all the people that aren’t diabetic using this
stuff for weight loss fab diets were impacting the amount that was
available for people that are really sick.
If this stuff is made from rare-earth elements, so that raw materials are actually scarce, then we probably shouldn't blame its shortage on the fact that it remains under patent for the next few years...
