Barbarella (4K disc) - 1968 sci-fi movie based on a French comic and
produced by Dino De Laurentiis.
I saw this movie once, in an art house theater in revival. I've mever
noticed it on tv.
The “safe for Ian“ version is pretty pointless.
Barbarella trivia:
There are multiple versions of the infamous opening credits. There are Ian
safe copies and not so safe copies and they use different lettering. The
most recent one is close, but no cigar and the letters are sharp and clear
and have clearly been redone on video.
But this means that somebody somewhere has the base background video with
no letters covering it up at all.
That’s a special feature they really need to include.
That reminds me, my new 4K disc has alternate opening and closing
credits included as an extra. I haven't gotten around to watching any
of the extras yet. I need to remember to watch some extras before I put
the disc back on the shelf.
Actually, I already put the disc back on the shelf. I need to pull the
disc from the shelf and watch some of those extras!

I think I’ve seen at least four different openings, including a really
fuzzy finished on film pan and scan version. There’s also a safety version
where they put shiny stars and big fuzzy white stuff to make absolutely
sure you don’t accidentally see any naughty bits.
