Let's talk about one of Hollywood's most controversial moments-Elliot Page's
transition. Now, before we dive in, let's be clear. Elliot, formerly known as
Ellen Page, can identify however they want. It's a free country, after all.
But just because someone can live their truth doesn't mean the rest of us
need to pretend biology doesn't exist. Page's transition has sparked massive
debate, with some cheering for "bravery" while others, like Ben Shapiro, push
back hard. Shapiro points out that while people are free to change their
names and appearances, biology isn't something you can just rewrite. Elliot
Page was born female, and in Shapiro's view, that's a fact that can't be
changed, no matter how much society tries to bend reality.
And it's not just Shapiro. Michael Knowles and Jordan Peterson have both
weighed in, making strong arguments against the current woke culture
surrounding gender identity. Knowles, for example, compared gender dysphoria
to anorexia, arguing that affirming a distorted view of reality does more
harm than good. Peterson took it a step further, calling out the entire
transition process as dangerous, especially for younger people who might be
influenced by what they see in the media. The woke mob, of course, went ballistic, labeling them
bigots and calling for their cancellation. But the
question remains-how far will society go to accommodate individual identity,
even when it conflicts with biological truth?
