Law and Order - "Greater Good" - Eriq La Salle directs this episode
where Team Lawn and Order investigate the murder of a wealthy music
mogul, but the case is held up by a local cop who feels the world is
better off with the man dead and there's no reason to help prosecute the
killer.  Warning, this episode has a recognizable guest star.  You
*know* what that means!

God, this was the wokest of the woke episodes of the revived mothership
series. When the NYPD copette is too woke even for Shaw, you know you're in
for a wild ride.

She shows up at the end to shame Shaw for outing her perjury on the stand
saying, "You know, you cost me my career."

You'll be lucky if that's all it costs you, sweetheart. I sense some handcuffs
in your future.

Conspiracy after the fact?

This episode was so distasteful I wasn't in the mood to throw out the
first snark. I watched with my mother, who was horrified. We were both
infuriated at the female undercover cop who refused to report to Riley,
despite standing several feet away, her observations of the prime
suspect and not giving a description.

Of course she cannot be a cop. She's a gift to defense attorneys as she
now has a reputation of false police reports and perjury on the stand,
She can never give evidence in court.

Shaw woke-splained to Riley about her "protect the community" attitude.

I've joked plenty of times, quoting the lyrics of Ko-Ko's famous song if
people who would not be missed, but Shaw and the lousy cop have a
serious, lengthy philosophical discussion about justifying homicide!

This discussion is the heart of the script!

The victim is some sort of R. Kelly or a black Jeffrey Epstein but none
of the women were underage.

The women he was supposedly prostituting didn't come off as believeable.
The one who was interviewed sounded like she lived in the expensive
apartment FOR MONTHS before being told she'd have to boink his friends.

But she was horribly intimidated and couldn't leave.
