True Grit (blu-ray) 2010 movie written by Joel and Ethan Coen and
directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.  Hailee Steinfeld stars as a 14 year
old girl in the old West out for revenge against the man (Josh Brolin)
who murdered her father.  To bring him to justice she hires an alcoholic
lawman (Jeff Bridges) because he has "true grit."  Matt Damon also
costars as a Texas lawman who teams up with them.  This is a pretty good

 I like this a lot; Hailee Steinfeld is terrific and it's one of Bridges'
best dramatic performances, not that he's ever given a poor performance.
It's a better adaptation than the John Wayne movie was.
 But certain scenes just don't work; the script could have been better. I
had forgotten this was a Coen brothers movie.

It really doesn't feel like a Coen's brother movie at all.  But then, neither does "No Country For Old Men."
