Australia to release Blu-Ray of I Dream Of Jeannie

Australia's label Imprint is supposed to release the complete
show of I Dream Of Jeannie on 22 Blu-Rays, good news because
the wretched label Mill Creek's treatment of discs can be so
bad like their 12 Blu-Rays of the complete show. Imprint might
do the complete Bewitched too, which is be coming out from
Mill Creek with the promise to use 22 discs, not less.

The releases of I Dream Of Jeannie have been so bad, like
when Sony packaged the whole show using the terrible
looking colorized versions for the first season. Mill Creek
just used the black and white versions, that's something they
did right, unless they went as far as to take the colorized
versions and then turned off the color, which never returns
the resulting picture to the original quality.

But Mill Creek always likes to compress more, even from
versions that are already damaged by compression, they are
determined to make worse. Sony bears guilt in Mill Creek
engineering, as Sony gives Mill Creek first choice in
licensing, and it also sometimes covers up for Mill Creek's bad name
by allowing Mill Creeks versions to be labeled as a Sony
product like with Mill Creek's I Dream Of Jeannie Blu-ray.
Sony's heavy handed compression of Married With Children got as
bad as 10 episodes per dvd, so Mill Creek follows this with 13-16
episodes to a disc in their version.

But Mill Creek has done improvements in reissues to Sony's defective release
like the four DVD-R set of Lucy Ball including the Fuller Brush Girl
that Sony released with that particular film being stretched in
width and vertically restricted to about a "1.50" aspect ratio;
A few years later Mill Creek reissued it on 2 pressed DVDs, in
the normal original 1.33 ratio, cheaply, though I see it's
gone out of print and Sony's is still available, as expensive as
ever.
