We can't know what God knew or didn't know.
Sure we can. We're told several times throughout Christian mythology that god
is omniscient. That means he literally knows everything.
St. Thomas Aquinas conceived the notion of the space-time continuum, that
space and time were formed instantaneously upon Creation. The continuum
was created for Man to exist within; God is without the continuum. There's
no concept of linear time with regard to God. Therefore He is omniscient.
Either god knew that Lucifer was different and that he was going to
rebel against him or god is not omniscient.
This is why the Christian concept of 'free will' doesn't hold up to logical
scrutiny. . . .
I've had the same discussion, the one time I took a Bible study class.
