Favorite Gene Hackman movie from the most prolific part of his career
with a terrific soundtrack by Michael Small. Listen to the haunting

Bah! - No Bob Seger, no show!!  :p

Sorry but the song was released end of 1976, long after the movie.

There were lyrics written to the movie theme released on a 1975 album
but I never heard it and I'm spacing out on who wrote them.

The movie was originally Dark Tower but it was felt that the title would
conflict with The Towering Inferno, and Arthur Penn added the important
chess game demonstration to the movie which the title references (if you
take it as a pun).

Shirley you guys were fans of Gene Hackman?
