We see this here in real life, too. I can't count the number of times I've
heard Idris Elba described as an "African-American actor". He's neither of
those things. He's British, not African nor American. It's like in the lunatic
world of DEI/PC, all black people in the world, no matter their heritage or
nationality are now African and American whether they like it or not.
I doubt Idris Elba demands appeasement but even if he did, can you
imagine the reactions of Stringer Bell or Luthor? DEI would die around
the two of them if real-life characters.
I've said this before but Elba was such a good actor there was NEVER a
hint of any London accent in playing Stringer. He's one of the few
British actors who successfully portray Americans.
