I still don't get why they didn't just have Maleficent curse Sleeping Beauty with death then have the third fairy change the curse to a sleeping spell.  Then at least they could have had a better story arc of Maleficent going from evil to good.  But they wanted Maleficent to never be evil in the first place.

 I skipped this one entirely. I’m frankly amazed you could make Maleficent
movies so bad that I wouldn’t watch them.
 

I was most looking forward to watching this one and was disappointed it wasn't better.  Maybe I missed it, but there was zero reason for Pfeiffer to be evil.  They should have given her some motivation for her actions beyond hating fairies.
