Well, the French are demanding we give them back the Statue of Liberty because we have borders and enforce them now, which means we no longer value liberty. Or something. So the week is starting off great.
Actually, it's not a demand. Just a suggestion since our country seems not to be living up to what the statue represents.
The statue itself was originally designed to go to Egypt to stand at the entry to the Suez Canal. It was only after Egypt turned the offer down that France paid for it, and the statue was slightly altered and given to the USA.
