I had no idea anybody did this. Clearly the judge is trying to persuade
more than a few law students and reach the general public instead. What
a politician!

Judge Lawrence VanDyke was unimpressed with the majority opinion in
Duncan v.
Bonta written by his colleagues, and by appellate counsel for the state
of California. No one is familiar with firearms! He's trying to make a
point about whether a magazine is an accessory or integral to the
operation of a weapon in a case in which there is consideration of the
constitutionality of state laws that limit capacity of magazines. Is
there any effective difference versus the automatic mechanism of a
semiautomatic weapon?

He demonstrates how guns operate. How did he get all those guns past the
U.S. Marshals into his chambers in the federal courthouse?

VanDyke was appointed by McConnell, er, Trump in 2020. American Bar
Association rated him "not qualified".

Really, dude?! You're going to quote ABA ratings, which don't rate
anyone to the right of AOC as "qualified"?!!

I didn't look at the ABA rating, just quoted the mention in the
Wikipedia article. They hated his temperament.

Which is the ABA's go-to to blackball conservative judges...

Since when are ABA ratings leftist? Bork was rated well qualified.

*30 years ago*. The ABA of now is not the ABA of then.

Did you look at the video or are you just going to give me shit?

I'm going to give you sh*t for quoting the ABA, which is thoroughly
discredited with right-of-center types. You might as well be quoting the
Sierra Club, or something...

Every Supreme Court nominee post Clarence Thomas has been rated "well
qualified". Thomas was "qualified".
