Bill Maher Roasts Gavin Newsom Face-to-Face

Maher is no conservative but I will give him full credit for not pulling his
punches with or making excuses for 'progressive' politicians the way most in
the media do for their 'side', and I include Fox News and how it runs cover
for Republicans in that.

He had Gavvy on his show and while the exchange was funny on the surface, you
can see how it was making Gavvy uncomfortable, which is exactly how he should
feel.

Maher was focusing on his own roof but in the wider world of inscrutable
California bureaucracy, of the thousands of rebuilding permits that have been
applied for only two-- that's one and one more-- have been granted so far. How
great is it that the city essentially burns your house down through it's
incompetence and negligence and then when you try and rebuild it, they run you
through a bureaucratic hellscape and then ultimately say no, you can't rebuild
the home we destroyed for you.

Both Newsom and Bass promised that they would dispense with the red tape and
the bureaucracy to get people back into new homes but, if anything, the
bureaucracy and government intransigence is even worse than it was pre-fires.
