Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (Tubi) 1983 sci-fi movie
starring Peter Strauss as a bounty hunter who travels to a hostile
planet run by Michael Ironside to save three women from Earth who crash
landed there.  Strauss teams up with a young Molly Ringwald and Ernie
Hudson so save the day.  I haven't watched this since the 80s.  I was
shocked by how much of it came back to me as I watched, and how
surprisingly watchable it turned out to be.  I watched "Cherry 2000" on
Friday and the two movies have very similar plot lines of man being
guided through wasteland by woman or in this case a teenage girl.

OK, I've never even heard of this movie, and knowing it's on Tubi may
get me to watch it!

The other thing there was a lot of in the 1980s was low-budge[t] sword
and sorcery flicks - there was one I saw on TV back in the early 80s
while I was babysitting that I still have never tracked down!

 Well, give us some clues

Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (blu-ray) 1983 sci-fi movie.  I
wasn't paying attention to the plot, I don't know, stuff happened I
guess.  This is another 80s flick I watched all the time on TV in the
80s, and I could never tell the difference between this one and
Spacehunter.  Now that I've watched them back to back, Spacehunter was
by far the better of the two movies.  I watched Metalstorm a few years
ago in 3D, and it was a horrible viewing experience.  This time I went
for the 2D option and the picture quality was fine, but I had already
made up my mind I wasn't going to pay attention to the movie.

Wow, with a very young Kelly Preston, and Richard Moll!! I'm guessing I
saw Jeffrey Byron back in the day, but I don't remember him

This sports a whoppin' 3.9/10 on IMDb. OTOH, "Spacehunter" is a decent
5.5/10, so I would bet it is much more watchable!

The Ice Pirates (blu-ray) 1984 sci-fi comedy starring Robert Ulich as a
space pirate who chases after a space princess while trying to avoid
catching space herpes.

Is this for real?!
Absolutely. I saw it in the theater. It’s on one of my streamers. I saw an
ad for it yesterday.

I just assumed everyone on Earth has seen "The Ice Pirates" at least 8 times and there would be no need to recap it.  It was on HBO like infinity times a week in the 80s.
"The Ice Pirates" is a very cheesy low budget sci-fi movie full of 80's "humor" that would definitely not fly today.  In the movie's universe water is the most rarest and valuable commodity.  Ulrich leads a band of pirates who  steal ice from the evil government.  During a raid he encounters a princess and it's lust at first sight.  As it turns out the princess wants to hire the pirates (after saving them from being castrated) to find her father.  Low budget 80s cheesy and culturally insensitive jokes ensue.  And yes, there are space herpes in the movie!
