I've been watching and enjoying it. Just fell behind so I haven't
watched the last few episodes.

I did. It got better. And no, the season finale added some information
to the main mystery but left one main character bleeding out and a
second possibly infected with a neurotoxin (and a third recovering in a
hospital bed).
