It seems that the North Koreans have developed a new way of earning money for Kim Jung Un's missile programs. The details are in this story from Fortune:
https://fortune.com/2025/04/07/north-korean-it-workers-infiltrating-fortune-500-companies/?utm_source=search&utm_medium=suggested_search&utm_campaign=search_link_clicksI loved the HR guy's technique for identifying North Koreans masquerading as Americans: make them say something negative against Kim Jung Un, knowing that this is a huge no-no in North Korea and could get the person locked away for a very long time (or worse).
But stopping these schemes is obviously not quite as simple as that so companies are likely to keep being fooled into hiring these people who end up kicking back their salaries for Kim Jung Un's nuclear program. There are also obvious espionage risks as the North Koreans infiltrate American companies IT infrastructure.
