Being attracted to a teenager who has entered puberty and is displaying
secondary sex characteristics is NOT pedophilia. If anything, it's
ephebophilia: a person who expresses primary sexual interest in mid-to-late
adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19.

Pedophiles are only attracted to pre-pubescent children.
Dude! That's NOT a psychological disorder! It's biology!
If we all didn't suffer from it, the species would die out.
In my opinion, the sickness isn't wanting to boink someone much younger
but wanting to date and have a long-term relationship. One would very
quickly run out of conversation with a high school girl.
And as we all know, whether he was attracted to Miri or not, he certainly
wasn't *primarily* attracted to teenagers so he wouldn't even make the cut as
an ephebophile.
Sigh. Women in the movies in the 1960s were just hotter. Star Trek had a
wonderful guest cast of women with timeless hotness. My absolute
favorite was "That Which Survives", Losira, played by Lee Meriwether.
That costume was pure eroticism

watch the episode for its script.
