Law & Order: Organized Crime (season 5 premiere) (3:01 am, Peacock)
The series moves to Peacock for its 5th season. Ten episodes; the first
two stream today (and the first of those will also air on NBC tonight at
10 pm ET), followed by single-episode weekly releases through June 12.
I watched the first two episodes of this. They basically formed a
mini-movie with Stabler going undercover as a trucker to help the FBI
bust a cross-border drugs-and-guns smuggling operation. While there,
he ends up meeting and befriending the kid of one of the lot lizards
(hookers) and uncovering a coven of serial killers among the truckers who
are traveling up and down the interstate abducting women and trading them
to each other based on each guy's particulars 'taste'. Tragedy leaves
Stabler leaning on Benson for emotional support, who shows up to visit
him in the hospital and then stays on to work the serial murder case.
So, C.J. Box stories (without paying an adaptation license fee) that we
saw on Big Sky, and numerous thriller movies from decades ago
Yes, I know there's nothing new under the sun. Is it at least being done
well? Are the hookers all gorgeous and don't look like they've been
subject to the ravages of their hard life? Should I ask about nudity,
since this is streaming?
