The BlackBeltBarrister describes why the Supreme Court had to get involved to end the confusion about "what is a woman". He also looks at the consequences of their ruling and what companies and organizations now need to do to comply with the law:

Important footnote:
He talks about Gender Recognition Certificates (GRCs). These are documents which people can acquire to get their official IDs changed to reflect their acquired gender but they are NOT trivial documents to acquire. In order to get this document, you have to live as your required gender for two years before applying AND satisfy a panel of doctors that you have gender dysphoria. Apparently, the vast majority of trans-folk do NOT go through this and merely demand to be treated as their new sex WITHOUT a GRC. The barrister discusses the impact of the ruling on both people with and without a GRC.
