I'm surprised you recognized it. It looks like any other beach I've seen. I didn't see any distinctive topography or whatever.

I like how they have a 30-foot monster wave on the green screen behind them
while they're 'surfing' but when they go into the water and come out, the
ocean is almost glass-smooth.

Any chance a young BTR was one of the extras on the beach? ;-) I'm guessing not; you probably weren't living there then.
