[OT] UK Police rush to identify ethnicity of offender when he is white

In most incidents of mass injury or death, the UK police are very cautious to tell you nothing about the attacker except perhaps the gender (and that is generally the gender claimed by the offender), apparently out of fear that it will cause unrest against people of the same ethnicity as the offender. But after a recent car ramming in Liverpool (that killed no one but injured several), they were unusually quick to announce that the driver was white and that there was no terrorism involved.
