The report I read does not mention fatalities so I'm hoping the injuries
aren't too bad although I imagine the psychological trauma is going to
be very difficult to overcome if it can be overcome at all.

I've heard different reports about the immigration status of the alleged
perpetrator Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45. He was born in Egypt; the reports
agree he's an Egyptian national. He lived in Kuwait for 17 years.

Colorado Public Radio said he came to Colorado Springs from Kuwait on a
tourist visa in August 2022 (expired February 2023) and then applied for
asylum in September 2022. He was on a work permit while the application
was pending.

Several stories agree that he took a gun safety class to buy a gun but
was prevented from doing so due to his citizenship status. Instead, he
built the makeshift flame thrower and Molotov cocktails.
