Fringe S4E04 'Subject 9'
Fox publicity sez: Olivia uncovers a dangerous force that may be connected to Walter's past experiments with the drug Cortexiphan. Their investigation forces Walter to leave the lab for the first time in years as he and Olivia head to Massive Dynamic in New York to examine old case files. Walter struggles with life outside the lab as he comes face-to- face with the demons of his past.
(Hey! Black Panther is in this one!)
The glyphs for this episode spell out: RESET
Because the Cortexiphan trials went all the way in the "BLUE" universe and didn't happen at all in the "RED" universe, they were halfway done in the "AMBER" timeline, with low enough doses to not make the superpowers permanent but high enough to possibly cause side effects for some of the subjects.
Olivia speaks to a man named Lt. Daniels, which was the name of Lance Reddick's character in The Wire.
Dr. Walter Bishop: Claire, will you please man the cameras in my absence?
Astrid Farnsworth: Really, Claire? That doesn't even start with an "A".
LOL
Fringe S4E05 'Novation'
IMDb sez: "Shapeshifter Nadine hunts down a former Massive Dynamics scientist to help rectify her cellular translucence. Meanwhile, Peter finds conversing with Walter difficult."
They should have called in the old "X" unit. They have experience in hunting shapeshifters.
The glyphs for this episode spell out: STILL
Nadine retrieves her typewriter from locker number 47. The number 47 features prominently both in "Fringe" and in J.J. Abrams' previous series, "Alias".
Malcolm Truss: Do you always bring a gun to a business proposal?
Malcolm Truss: But just so you know, I don't do my best work at gunpoint.
What Did You Watch?
I watched:
Dick Tracy (blu-ray) 1990 movies based on the comic character, directed by and starring Warren Beatty as the title character. Beatty plays an incorruptible cop who goes after flamboyant comic book villains, who all have distinctive looks that match their names. Al Pacino chews the scenery as the head bad guy and Madonna has fun as a lounge singer caught between Beatty and Pacino. The movie holds up very well.
Watchmen (4K disc) 2009 movie based on the comic of the same name, directed by Zack Snyder. The movie follows a group of costumed heroes in an alternate 1980s America who while investigating the murder of one of their own uncover a plot that could spell the end of the world.
This still holds up as one of Snyder's all time best movies.
