I get that France was instrumental in them winning their war of independence (and giving them a bloody great big statue to remind them of the fact) so I understand why they pronounce 'filet' as they do. But then they end 'tourniquet' with a hard T? Seriously. And don't get me started on 'solder'! It's not like they can't pronounce 'colder' of 'folder'...
