RBR need a better driver than Checo and they decided that Dan is no longer that driver. I think that this is an evaluation of Lawson to see if he's good enough to replace Checo next year. To do so he needs to convincingly out-perform Tsunoda for the rest of the year. So no pressure then. Also it's rumoured that if RBR didn't confirm him for a seat by the end of September his contract stated that he'd have been free to entertain offers from other teams. So instead of confirming him for next year they've thrown him in the deep end in true RBR style. On 2/10/2024 4:54 am, Phil Carmody wrote:I think he did pretty well, but I also think he's had his chances. Hopefully he will be able to (at least) keep up hos good form, and
keep the ride for 2025.
Really? He's had his chance. And his second chance. And his third
chance. And his forth chance. And his fifth chance.

You think he should have won those races to get and keep a job ?

Most seem to think he did pretty well.
*don't* think bringing Lawson in will magically improve things (and he
may actually do worse for a while), but I think they have to look
medium-long term rather than short-term.
As Phil says, new blood is a good thing.
