And this is a device which you pay extra for? Amazing, but how is
this an advantage over eyes?

I'm not sure about that "falling asleep". At least inn my own
experience - about 70 years or so, trucks, cars, motorcycles and
yachts :-0

But for drunken  driving it must be really helpful.

P.S. I might add that many airplanes only have 2 eyes to drive them.
Imagine that. Rushing along at suprsonic speeds with only two eyes.

Or goodness, gracious, walking down stairs ( I know a guy does it with
only one eye) :-)
