Tommy doesn't have any friends. Besides that, this is another case of tommy talking out his ass. Obviously he referring to Abbott, but Abbot doesn't make Carbamazepine:

If he though he was taking Carbamazepine from Abbott, it's obvious they're giving him some kind of placebo. Tommy strikes me as a particularly whiny patient that a doctor would give unmarked generic aspirin and tell him it was some exotic new drug just to shut him up.
But please use third hand medications made by questionable sources.
Brazil's Anvisa tests all imported drugs. So I know they are
safe. I don't know if the American equivalent can be trusted,
though...
