I pushed the ride from 37 miles to another 5 milrd snf 300 feet of climbing1 and I am sore as hell. I guess I'm going to have to accept that I'm getting old and reduce my rides to ones that aren't at my limit. Good thing that the Saturday rides are easy.
Going to the limits can be good. I hate hills (unless it's downhill ...) but I still deliberately ride many steep climbs. Just to stay in shape.
Then I also try to do errands by bike, mainly to increase my number of miles. Like this morning, only 5 miles but that's better than using the car like almost everyone else. For the environment and for me.
