I?d guess misadventure but since he?s not been formally identified let
alone cause of death established?

A few years ago, we had the first and only fatality in our 265 acre
nature preserve's history. The guy was a middle aged mountain biker and
fitness enthusiast, not known to me but known well by some of my
friends, mostly through their contact at a local gym.
 
He apparently fell off his mountain bike into a very shallow creek while
crossing a little footbridge on a winter ride. I never heard autopsy
findings, but I wonder if his death was some combination of being
knocked out and suffering hypothermia.

 
 
 
 
He was in Spain Frank, while hypothermia is possible it is unlikely that
he would be unconscious long enough to become hypothermic. More likely a
broken neck disconnecting blood flow to the brain.

 
 
You (and I) do not know the altitude. Or much else for that
matter.
 

Indeed that area of Spain is hilly and even areas such as Tenerife which is
much further south can get cold at height and does snow occasionally.

But broadly may never know as is the way of life or rather death! Seems to
be nothing obvious being reported so anything else is less than speculation
more wild guesses.
