Roads really should be useable for all traffic, if it’s designed for one
type of vehicle, I’m guessing that folks don’t keep to the 45/50MPH as US
has so few speed cameras, and well big road lots of lanes, it will feel
safe to drive quite a lot faster.
 
Is a road like that near me minus the strip malls, that used to have speed
cameras ie fixed ones, though that just ment folks panic braked at them, so
average speed cameras have been installed which have calmed it down, and
it’s a much more pleasant road to drive on now.
 
Would appear that this is some E scooter than has run into the back of
bike, and since the cyclist is dead only have her word on it, though really
if you run into the back of someone very difficult to make any defence of
your driving/riding.
 
I’d take a stab and suggest she wasn’t traveling at 20mph the speed limit
for Florida I’m also guessing they aren’t physically limited to that.

roads.
 
In suspect the speed limit on that section of Dale Mabry is 50 MPH. I
suspect also, the average driving speed is much faster. Been a while
since I was there. Many restaurants and strip malls with vehicles
entering and leaving and jockeying for lanes changes.

Was a E Scooter crashing into a bike, no car etc involved if you read the
article.

So the speed limit wouldn’t be the posted limit on the roads but the
maximum that a e-scooter in Florida is supposed to do, which apparently is
20mph, which personally I feel is touch high for any of these active travel
type things ie something that might be expected legally or otherwise to be
used on pavement or other shared spaces and so on.
