Garmin edge 830 last firmware update was 9.75 over two years ago, is a
public 9.81 beta but even that’s over a year old and hasn’t moved to a
general release.

Gets time zone updates now and then. Uk is in summer time zone so has had a
time zone update.

In short you’re mistaken.
