If you're having problems convincing the local government to install

My problem is the opposite: Convincing local government _not_ to install
bicycle infrastructure.

In our suburban village, some consulting group proposed installing a
bi-directional bike path on the library side of main street. The
library's parking exit is a bit difficult, and downhills approach that
driveway from both directions.
Why would a bi-directional bike path, that you'd never use, be your
problem?
Because I don't think we should build things so incompetently that kids
might get killed using them.
Why are you against demanding proper facility designs? Is it because you
think "Any bike facility is a good bike facility"?
