I think I've tracked down the source of clicking when I
ride--my Speedplay X cleats.  When it's not quite so hot I'm
going to see if tightening the tension screws helps (the
C-rings have quite a lot of play as currently set).  Further,
I get the clicking on both my single Ritchey and my
tandem--two different sets of pedals.

In any case, I'm thinking to get a new pair of cleats.  Even
if the adjustment resolves the clicking, it wouldn't be bad to
have a backup.  I'm wondering why the huge disparity in
pricing (~10X). What looks to be official is ~$200...

Based on the language of the description, I'm guessing these
latter cleats are of Chinese origin.  And I did notice the
title says cleat covers, but the pictures (and description)
all show cleats.  Also, this may be what I bought last time.

Any tips?

I wouldn't waste any time on the cheap chinese versions.
Imagine pulling up to a stoplight and finding the cleat won't
 disengage.

I have very little experience with the Zero series (I
exclusively ride the X series), but ISTM it may just be an
issue of wear such that the 'centering' feature on the
cleat/pedal interface is worn to the point where you are
actually popping in and out of alignment. You might need to
 replace both cleats and pedals.

I at first thought you were asking a question on Q factor based
on the title of the thread.

 Thanks for the feedback.

I had X sereies pedals and cleats for many years, but have been
unable to find replacements.  I went with the zero pedals a while
back, and found that the X cleats kind of worked with them.  But
after having a bit of difficulty clipping out and dumping my
stoker a couple of times, I got the Zero cleats.  The pedals look
really good, so I'm pretty sure it's cleats needing either
 adjusted or replaced.

$200 for cleats is obscene, but I'll go that route if adjustment
 of these doesn't help.

The adjustment screws had worked their way nearly out of the
cleats, so I tightened them nearly all the way.  The clicking was
lessesend somewhat (perhaps), but not gone.  So I guess I'll look
for a pair of authentic Wahoo/Speedplay Zero cleats.
