Mr Princep started The Great War in 1914 with a pathetic little .380 3-1/2" barrel Browning 1910.  Doesn't look scary at all.
So much insulting and deflecting to avoid dealing with pertinent questions!
If a couple shots from a handgun are powerful enough to start a world war, why do private citizens need access to more?
More specifically, there is no practical civilian need for an AR-style rifle or for the ability to spray dozens of rounds in less than a minute. The only documented public use for that capability, AFAIK, has been to facilitate murders of rooms full of innocent victims.
It's my bet that not one of you have used that capability for anything but "fun." It's also my bet that neither John nor Tom Kizer nor Mr. Tricycle Rider even own an AR-style gun. You are arguing for the great benefits of something you see no need to own.
And you're ignoring the obvious detriments to society - because you have emotional attachment to guns. You love them, and want nobody to speak ill of them.

As with bicycles, bicycle equipment, election decisions (all discussed here recently) people make decisions for every reason and for no reason, despite your disdain. and that's their right.
