Gosh! He didn't need a 30 round magazine and the ability to empty it into his prey within a minute?
Utterly different situations.
Carefully and quietly tracking deer and lining up a shot has zero relevance to defending against a human threat. Any human deadly threat, not only a 'two way range'.
