I agree. I'd add the tendency for developers of such spaghetti developments to maximize the number of cul-de-sacs, purposely destroying connectivity.
Its a reaction to the negative effects of motor traffic in residential areas, but it imposes a lot of inconvenience on those of us who are non-motorized.
