While there are probably only hundreds that can tell the difference in sound of a Stativarius I damn well know there is a difference and can identify a Stradivarious from an Amazon professional grade violin whereas Frank denies there is a difference.
I've linked to studies proving that "experts" cannot reliably distinguish the sound of a Strad from the sound of a modern high quality violin.
Why do you retain your inexpert beliefs even when they've been proven wrong by careful, published tests?
He actually believes that he has science on his side despite the fact that violin players with good ears pay millions for specific years of Strativarius violins.
A minor point: In most cases, the violinists don't own the Strads. Most are owned by wealthy patrons, by organizations, etc. and loaned to carefully chosen soloists.
