On my phone the password is my fingerprint. My desktop doesn't have that.
I did some Googling for "Epoch Times fingerprint login" and
variations, such as "Epoch Times biometric authentication". I found
no evidence that the Epoch Times Android app supports fingerprint
authentication or login. Therefore, you're using your fingerprint to
login to the phone (i.e. Google account login) and not the Epoch Times
Android app (as Zen Cycle mentioned).
This might help:
"Log in to The Epoch Times app for Android"

This might be the source of your confusion:
"Enter the email address and password associated with your
subscription or account. If you connected to your Epoch Times account
with your Google account, please log in with those credentials."
Note that with biometric authentication, the biometric method for each
device associated with which biometric login methods it supports. You
could plug in a fingerprint reader into your desktop USB port and have
fingerprint login work on the desktop. Plenty to choose from:

However, you don't need a fingerprint reader attached to your desktop.
Just use the keyboard and your Epoch Times account login and password.
