CUES is poobably a good idea if you're replacing the drive train. From 8
speed through 11 speed they a11 use the same spacing and lever pull
ratio, So, unless your present levers are 11 speed they won't work with CUES.

 Even then CUES Linkdrive shifters which you can mix and match across the
systems ie 9-11s which is the point of the system, ie all are 11s LinkGuide
so are compatible with each other but not with HyperGuide kit bar the chain
and chainrings.
   So I can use any 11s chain doesn’t need to be a Cues one, but I can’t use
say a 11s Deore shifter, has to be a CUES one.
 All though there is a Deore Link glide to muddy the waters somewhat!

 Seems to be missing from the compatibility chart and 10s so I suspect it’s
only compatible with its self?
