Schwalbe has introduced, a new valve which seems to have some advantages,

Can’t say I notice the wear at least with the pumps, have had one inner
tube, fail recently with a valve failure ie no holes but slowly deflated.

Now we'll need pumps with triple heads.....(yeah yeah I know, they have
adapters and claim SV will fit)
On the other hand, I don't really like the fumbling with sclaverand
valves. Just replacing the valve insert with something better isn't that
bad an idea. _If_ it is actually better. Question is: can Schwalbe
generate a profit from that idea, without killing it by trying to sell
expensive licenses?
That's unknown. Successful new patterns such as Look's groundbreaking road shoe sole (curvature and hole placement) pattern get licensed for very small amounts. That design swept the industry down to today. Where licenses are overly difficult or expensive, everyone makes an incompatible version themselves.
