I thought that everyone used Eternal September. I've been using it for
years and it works great and it is free.
Tom is not everyone. I was paying about $5/month for Supernews since
about 1998. Generally good about everything including tech support. I
didn't see any reason to change for $60/year. However, my last
exchange with their new tech support personality convinced me that
they would soon become a problem. So, I went shopping for a new NNTP
service and ended up with individual.net for 10 Euros per year:

https://news.individual.net>
I was going to switch to Eternal September, except that individual.net
had one big advantage. When I posted something, and then polled for
new messages, the new messages would appear in a few seconds. Unlike
most of the others, I didn't need to wait for a long time to see if my
posting was available. Other than cost and this feature, I would say
Eternal September and Individual.net are about the same.
