There are very few poisonous snakes in Florida - limited almost entirely to water mocasins which are not aggressive. 99% of snakes you would see are non-poisonous insect and small lizard or rodent eating species. It took me three years to actually catch a rattlesnake.

Note that your water moccasin is not on the list of Florida venomous
snakes.

The Florida Cottonmouth is a species of the genus that the water
moccasin belongs to. It isn't commonly called a water moccasin, but
apparently easily confused (especially by those who are easily confusable).

Thanks.  I didn't know that.  I'm not very familiar with snakes,
except for the lawyer, realtor and used car salesman sub-species.
